Job Title: Brow Bar Lead Sales Aesthetician (LSA)
Department: Wholesale
Employee Status: Regular, Full-Time
Reports to: Retail Business Manager

Summary:
The Brow Bar Lead Sales Aesthetician (LSA) is responsible for ensuring Brow Bar sales and service goals are achieved through use of the 8 Step Magic Formula and the performance of short salon services including brow and facial waxing. The LSA is responsible for developing the selling, service, and customer service skills of the Aesthetician team through coaching, team selling and leading by example. They are also responsible for creating and maintaining a high level of teamwork and communication between Beauty Artists and Aestheticians, ensuring excellent customer service and that Brow Bar customers are shown Benefit product as a part of the service. In addition, the LSA is responsible for all aspects of Aesthetician scheduling, payroll procedures, supply and tool ordering, and maintaining State Board compliance.
Key Areas and Standards of Performance
Sales and Service Goals:
- Ensure all personal and team product sales and service goals are achieved.
- Continuously train and use the 8 Step Magic Formula. Ensure all team members are consistently using the 8 Step Magic Formula and the Hand Off.
- Demonstrate, recommend and sell Benefit products. Ensure your team does the same.
- Perform short salon services, including but not limited to brow and facial waxing and tweezing. Up-sell additional services when appropriate.
- Divide service and sales goals between Aestheticians and communicate goals on a daily basis; follow up during the day to ensure all Aestheticians are on target to achieve their goals.
- Coach team and communicate with Retail Business Manager and Brow Bar CM regarding product knowledge, demonstration techniques and new products.
- Lead by Example. Demonstrate strong leadership skills; provide motivation, guidance and structure to ensure Aesthetician’s quality and consistency of work.
- Follow all safety, sanitation and hygienic procedures before, during and after services. Ensure your team does the same.
- Maintain a cheerful, upbeat, energetic, fun attitude so that counter atmosphere is playful and exciting for customers and co-workers. Ensure your team does the same.
- Create and maintain a partnership with the Brow Bar Counter Manager (CM) to promote teamwork and a high level of customer service.
- Ensure that our customers receive the best customer service.
Service Supplies & Stations:
- Follow Benefit Supply Order procedure to ensure necessary supply levels are maintained.
- Ensure service stations are sanitary, wax is cleaned off surface and wax pots. Containers should be properly labeled and have lids on at all times.
- Maintain a sanitary, organized, uniform appearance at service and tester stations.
- Ensure all Aestheticians are performing services, and maintaining waxing areas that are to the utmost standards of hygiene and state-board compliant at all times.
- Follow all morning/evening opening and closing procedures, turning off workstations, straightening up work area, cleaning tester units, cutting muslin, etc. and ensure team participation and compliance.
Counter Culture:
- Keep merchandise areas and displays full and well stocked, following Benefit Counter Culture direction.
- Keep counter, cash wrap and stock area clean and neatly organized at all times.
- Maintain Benefit Counter Culture standards at all times, including new product launches.
Teamwork:
- The LSA’s key to success is partnership with the Counter Manager to make both sales and service staff productive and successful in achieving goals.
- Provide both positive and/or constructive feedback to Aestheticians who are either achieving goals with services and products and/or not achieving their service or product goals.
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the supervising Retail Business Manager.
- Encourage Beauty Artists and Aestheticians to work together by using the ‘Hand Off’ for services and product sales to achieve overall goals.
- Ensure correct use of the Appointment Book and team compliance of appointment booking procedures.
- Ensure all Benefit, Benefit Brow Bar and Retailer policies and procedures are followed including, but not limited to, customer release forms, etc.
- Train and coach all new Aestheticians on waxing technique, sanitation & hygiene, State Board compliance, using the appointment book correctly, the 8 Step Magic Formula, the Hand Off, and all other job requirements.
- Responsible for notifying Benefit Retail Business Manager of any staff absences in a timely manner, and for communicating this to the Brow Bar CM and other team members.
Administration:
- Accurately complete and deliver all productivity reports on time to Retail Business Manager.
- Work with Retail Business Manager to create Aesthetician schedule.
- Monitor schedule to ensure effective coverage, and communicate with Benefit Retail Business Manager, Brow Bar CM and team any vital information, including openings, sick calls, vacation or PTO days that may affect staffing levels.
- Manage all aspects of the time keeping and payroll system.
- Ensure Aestheticians accurately clock in and out for scheduled shifts and lunches.
- Ensure all Aestheticians record any attendance issues on attendance calendar.
- Manage all aspects of the supply order system.
- Accurately complete and deliver all productivity reports on time to Retail Business Manager.
- Regularly review all reports and employee concerns with Retail Business Manager
- Maintain Benefit’s standards by following all retailer guidelines (i.e., respect Retailer security procedures by checking in and out of security, etc.)
Miscellaneous:
- Follow all Benefit and Retailer rules and regulations.
- Follow Benefit and Retailer dress code.
- Maintain very high quality of personal hygiene.
- Attend mandatory Benefit Training Parties and team meetings.
- Aestheticians may be required to work a rotating schedule between the stores. Occasionally one may be temporarily assigned to a different store to cover a last-minute absence of a co-worker. Follow company and Retailer dress code.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Recruiting:
- Consistently recruit for outstanding Aestheticians.
- Ensure that you have a talent pool readily available to fill open positions.
Implements:
- he company will issue four tweezers and four facial scissors to each employee upon hiring. Employee is responsible for the care, sanitation, and maintenance of these utensils.
- Employee is responsible for bringing these implements to work each day.
- Employee may turn one set of utensils in for sharpening at a time, allowing 8 weeks turn-around time. If employee comes to work without utensils, employee is responsible for purchasing their own utensils for that day.
Certificates, License, Registrations:
- California State law requires, an individual performing such duties as outlined here must hold and display a current Aesthetician’s License issued by the State, or current Cosmetologist License issued by the State of California Board of Cosmetology.
- Original license must be displayed at the location where employee is working each day.
- Employee is responsible for renewing their license in a timely manner, sending in the appropriate paperwork no less that 90 days before expiration.
