Benefit Cosmetics is looking for spectacular sales people with personality, energy and enthusiasm that love selling cosmetics and have excellent customer service skills. If you have a sense of humor with a double dose of beauty-know-how, then we have the perfect job for you. We are looking for Counter Managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Major Goals of the Counter Manager:

  • Achieve the Benefit retail sales objectives in-store by taking positive initiative and ensuring the customer gets the best customer service and shopping experience.
  • Supervise the team of beauty artists and the running of the Benefit business.
  • Lead the team by example, and set the standard for Benefit within the store by following Benefit and retailer guidelines and standards.

Sales Goals:

  • Achieve personal SALES GOAL on a daily basis.
  • Divide Benefit sales goals effectively between Beauty Artists on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
  • Provide leadership, motivation and guidance to the Beauty Artists to ensure they:
    -Provide the best customer satisfaction and shopping experience possible.
    -Achieve sales productivity by increasing Items Per Transaction (IPT).
  • Be on time for work.
  • Follow store policy and procedure including opening the required number of credits set by the retailer. .

Sales and Marketing Skills:

  • Sell merchandise through use of the Magic Formula and customer service.
  • Develop Beauty Artists through continuous guidance in selling and perfecting Magic Formula skills, product knowledge, and customer service using the beneCELEBRITY file.
  • Plan, communicate and implement regularly scheduled counter parties/events.

Stock & Merchandising:

  • Communicate stock needs and Top 40 requests to maintain adequate stock levels to Planner, Buyer, Cosmetic Manager and Benefit Supervisor (based on retailer guidelines).
  • Update and maintain counter to follow Benefit merchandising guidelines.
  • Ensure retailer and Benefit tester guidelines are followed at counter.

Personnel Development:

  • Develop a motivated team of Beauty Artists.
  • Effectively communicate and recognize achievement.
  • Assist in personnel related functions such as counseling and identifying development needs of Beauty Artists.
  • Assist in recruiting, screening and partnering in hiring staff.

Administration:

  • Maintain DBR and WBR. Forward/Fax completed weekly sales to Benefit supervisor, call in daily sales at the close of business each day

Staff Schedules:

  • Meet schedule and staffing needs daily to achieve best possible sales coverage for the counter including Special Events, sick and vacation days.
  • Provide the most effective coverage at counter during store opening hours. Coverage reflects the key shopping hours in the store; therefore, it is essential that nights and weekends are worked.

Qualifications: 

  • Proven strong sales ability
  • Flexibility regarding work hours.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Can initiate and manage change in a positive manner.
  • Comfortable and competent at make up application.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Adept at problem solving.
  • Flexible and adaptable to customer needs.
  • 1-2 years management experience in the cosmetics industry
