Job Title: DFS District Sales Manager- Hawaii and Guam

Summary:

The DFS District Sales Manager is responsible for Benefit retail sales development in DFS downtown and airport stores.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Results:

  • Sets productivity goals and measures individuals and team success according to the goal(s)
  • Assess and adjust goal(s) as team changes, grows & develops
  • Achieve daily/ monthly/ yearly sales goals
  • Achieve monthly/ yearly/ expense target

Management:

  • Lead by example

  • Contribute to the growth, learning and success of others
  • Consistently review performance of team members
  • Keep commitments and build high expectations in self and others
  • Always be approachable and an effective two way communicator
  • Express ideas and information clearly and effectively

Business Acumen:

  • Develop and communicate a clear course of action
  • Persuade others through influence and collaboration as opposed to command and control
  • Develop a business strategy and a plan to execute it
  • Ensure the Promotional Calendar is planned based on sales goals and previous year sales
  • Work with Account Planner to ensure stock levels are accurate and that top 50 skus are always in stock
  • Effectively lead teams to ensure that all corporate initiatives are met

Recruitment:

  • Hire, orient, develop and retain people at all levels; Beauty Artist(s), Counter Manager(s)
  • Ensure that all counters are appropriately staffed with the right people in a timely manner and with the support, when necessary, of the Host Store
  • Follow all company and store policies and procedures as well as all Host Store Policies, when necessary
  • Negotiate staffing levels based on productivity targets, trends and opportunities with the Host Store, when necessary

Training:

  • Build a trained and educated staff through on and off site training
  • Ensure the Benefit motto is actively being used for all training purposes
  • Maintain the consistency and standards of the 8 Step Magic Selling Formula
  • Inspire and train employees by setting the example of excellent service and sales and through team selling
  • Coach team(s) on executing and maintaining the 8 steps to a successful day

Communication and Relationships with Outside Customers:

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with the following DFS Store employees:
  • Regional Merchandise Manager(s)
  • Store Manager(s)
  • Buyer(s)
  • Planner(s)
  • Host Store Staffing & Human Resources

Results:

  • Sets productivity goals and measures individuals and team success according to the goal(s)
  • Assess and adjust goal(s) as team changes, grows & develops
  • Achieve daily/ monthly/ yearly sales goals
  • Achieve monthly/ yearly/ expense target

Additional Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years retail experience
  • Minimum 3 years management experience
  • Cosmetics experience preferred
  • Travel Retail experience, a plus
  • Proven sales and service track record
  • Ability to analyze and manage a budget
  • Proficient at reading and analyzing numbers
  • Interpersonal skills in customer service
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Flexibility regarding work hours
  • Knowledge of the Japanese language, a plus
  • Ability to regularly travel to San Francisco and Guam
